Umrah is is a pilgrimage to Mecca, that can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Hajj. In Arabic, Umrah means "to visit a populated place". In the Syariat, Umrah means to perform Tawaf round the Kaaba and Sa'i between Al-Safa and Al-Marwah, after assuming Ihram (a sacred state), either from a Miqat. It is sometimes called the 'minor pilgrimage' or 'lesser pilgrimage', the Hajj being the 'major' pilgrimage and which is compulsory for every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it. The Umrah is not compulsory but highly recommended.
For some regions, Umrah is a large things considering the cost to pay in the trip. Some people make Umrah as an alternative way in demand Hajj is probably harder to be done, like the oldness. But anyway, its still a sacred trip as well as it was demand a moslem to get it in Hajj. In the "fiqh" perspective, Umrah qualified as a sunah, mean demanded in low qualify.
Many thousand of people come to the holy town everyday in order the pilgrim. Indonesian is a most massive country that come to Mecca. And the phenomena is, there someone that came to the land more than once time in a year. He took someone else with anytime arriving the pilgrim and its considered as a spirit experience whereas the syariat mention its not in the priority like that even the Hajj that qualified as a duty (wajib) beside it entail considerable expense. Beside, in order of the priority of syariat, theres are another important things that are have to be done.
some people do the trip more than a time in a year for the pilgrim.
On demand the syariat, Umrah was entirely suppose the important things that should be applied by a muslem. There is ihram that should be done during Umrah by using unsewn clothes (for males) is meaningful. The white color had many meaning that should be purpose a muslim how to be an equal each other. there is no priority for any status in their lives. The equality is a grand morality in Syariat that demanded on any order of Syariat.
